There’s no particular reason why the project should be a pipe-dream, since its predecessor – the Kirkuk to Haifa pipeline (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirkuk%E2%80%93Haifa_oil_pipeline) functioned well. Indeed, the wayleaves may still be in place. What makes little sense, however, is bringing the pipe to Aqaba: the Mediterranean coast is a far more sensible outfall. Perhaps the choice of location could be used to incentivise the Israelis to make peace with the Palestinians?
